Ligue 2. Notes from Dijon – Girondins (0-3): the “capi” Barbet took care of everything

A really quiet first period, where he touched many more balls with his foot than with his hand. He tried to raise short as much as possible, even when long balls could have prevailed so as not to take unnecessary risks. A stop without difficulty before the break (45e), another late game (87e), and that’s all.

Clement Michelin: 6/10

Clement Michelin: 6/10

Back as a right-back, he shines on one of his strong points: his quality on set pieces. His free kick deposited on the head of Barbet is perfect (12e). Quite irregular defensively, with good coverage but also some hesitation, like when he gets a cold from a fake (27e). Really calm after the break, he showed himself a lot at the front.

Stian Gregersen: 7/10

Not really threatened by the Dijonnais, he proved to be robust when necessary, always well placed. In the “minus” column, a weak point that he mentioned in our columns on Saturday: his long relaunch, with several misplaced ammunition. But overall reliable, as always this season.

Yoann Barbet (c): 9/10

Certainly, he is put on the buttocks by the dribble of Soumaré on a ball lost by Davitashvili in front of him (32e). Otherwise, what a performance! There’s that header of course (12e), but also these won duels, these ball outings and this permanent leadership, including to bring up his block. Then, he scored twice with a nice free kick, as he is used to in training (52e). And as if that were not enough, he recovers the ball from a tackle and launches the action of 3-0 (60e). He made Gaston-Gérard his garden.

Vital Nsimba: 6/10

He took several waves in the first half, suffering against Soumaré who was often accompanied by a teammate, but it was also because Davitashvili left him to fend for himself for a long time. At first quite discreet with the ball, but much sharper in the second half, in defense as in its projections. Replaced by Johaneko Louis-Jean (88e).

Tom Lacoux: 6/10

Not always comfortable with the ball at the start of the match, sometimes hampered by the opposing pressing, he gained momentum as the Dijonnais opened up spaces, especially in the second period. Precious in balance and to hinder opposing transmissions.

Junior Mwanga: 6/10

This time he discovered the midfielder position. He logically had less time when he touched the ball, and he initially existed little in the game forward before raising the cursor a little. Very valuable on the other hand in impact and aerial duels. He redacts a ball recovered high (76e). Replaced by Issouf Sissokho (81e).

Fransergio: 6/10

He spent a good part of the first 45 minutes talking to the bench about where exactly to stand when Dijon had the ball. A match without a bang, where he applied himself to distribute cleanly. He was often where the action was taking place, which is no coincidence.

Dilane Bakwa: 6/10

A nice rush at the end of which he took too long to hit (6e). Overall, even if he was not spared by the Dijonnais, he played a few good shots badly. Too bad, because his technical quality offers him real possibilities, like this sublime pass for Davitashvili (49e). But he is in the right place and at the right time to score the third goal with a pivot shot (60e). Replaced by Logan Delaurier-Chaubet (81e).

Josh Maja: 6/10

Apart from a center a little too far back at the very end of the first period, he did not have the slightest goal ball to put in his mouth. As a result, we have especially seen it in its other register, that of the player who comes between the lines to propose a solution with his back to the goal, to allow the block to be stored and brought up. Very intelligent in his movements. Replaced by Alexi Pitu (72e), who therefore made his debut in the Bordeaux jersey and showed himself to be available.

Zuriko Davitashvili: 6/10

Until his tumble in the surface (45e+1), he missed almost everything as soon as he had the ball, and his loss of ball in front of the surface (32e), as in Caen, could have been expensive. Too light defensively for half an hour. He badly negotiates his one against one after being launched in depth (49e), but it was he who got the free kick for the second goal (52e) and he is a decisive passer for Bakwa (60e). Draft, but it weighs. Relayed by Aliou Badji (72e).
